Position Overview:
The Remote Dental Receptionist serves as the first point of contact for patients on behalf of our dental clients. This role involves managing incoming calls, scheduling appointments, verifying insurance information, and ensuring a professional, patient-centered experience. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, empathetic, and able to multitask efficiently in a virtual environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Answer inbound calls on behalf of dental offices in a friendly, professional manner.
- Schedule, confirm, and reschedule patient appointments using the clients dental management software (e.g., Dentrix, Eaglesoft, Open Dental).
- Accurately record patient information, reason for visit, and contact details.
- Handle inquiries related to office hours, services, and appointment availability.
- Forward urgent messages or emergencies to the appropriate on-call personnel as directed by the client.
- Verify and update patient insurance and contact information when necessary.
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA compliance standards.
- Document all interactions clearly and accurately in the system.
- Support follow-up calls, reminders, and any administrative requests from the dental office as assigned.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Previous experience in a dental office or medical answering service preferred.
- Knowledge of dental terminology and scheduling systems (Dentrix, Open Dental, or similar) is an asset.
- Excellent verbal communication skills and professional phone etiquette.
- Strong multitasking and organizational abilities.
- Proficient computer skills and familiarity with CRM or scheduling tools.
- Reliable internet connection and a quiet home workspace.
- Must be able to work during U.S. business hours.
