A company in the pharmaceutical and health space is looking to hire an Accounts Officer to join its team. The person shall support the Admin & Finance Manager in the performance of his duties.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

Support the F&A Manager to prepare monthly, quarterly and annual accounting reports and schedules.

Monitor budget information; track expenditures and variances, and report for corrective action.

Verify cheques amounts against invoices, and authorize cheques and wire transfers to approve cash disbursements.

Complete payments and controls expenses by receiving, processing, verifying, and reconciling invoices.

Reconcile processed work by verifying entries and comparing system reports to balances.

Maintain accounting ledgers by verifying and posting account transactions.

Verifie vendor accounts by reconciling monthly statements and related transactions.

Keep sensitive information confidential, and follow internal measures for financial security.

Reconcile bank statements by comparing statements with general ledger.

Disburse petty cash by recording entry and verifying documentation.

Update and maintain vendor database in a timely manner.

Assist in the preparation of employee payroll.

Enter data into computer system using defined computer programs.

Assist in the preparation and filing of relevant statutory payments such as PAYE, SSNIT, etc.

Perform any other duties incidental to the role.

Job Requirements:

A good 1st degree in Accounting or related qualification.

Pursuing or willing to pursue professional qualification is a plus.

2+ years of overall combined accounting and finance experience.

Functional Skills and Knowledge

Solid understanding of basic accounting and accounts payable principles.

Proven ability to calculate, post and manage financial records.

The ideal candidate should be entrepreneurial with ownership mentality.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Ability to drive and with a valid driving licence is a plus.

Due to our operations, candidates staying around Tema, Ashaiman, Afienya, Spintex and its environs are preferred.
