Job vacancy for Head of Maintenance

A company in the Hospitality Industry is looking to hire a Head of Maintenance to manage all construction projects and to plan the strategy and delivery of all maintenance for all entities within the group.

Overall Job Purpose:

The role holder is responsible for planning construction projects and overseeing their progress in a timely and cost-effective manner, as well as overseeing all installation, repair and upkeep operations of the company’s facilities. The role reports to the Director of Operations.

Key Responsibilities:

● Oversee and direct construction projects from conception to completion.

● Review the project in-depth to schedule deliverables and estimate costs.

● Negotiate terms of agreements, draft contracts and obtain permits and licenses.

● Meet contractual conditions of performance.

● Plan ahead to prevent problems and resolve any emerging ones.

● Analyze, manage and mitigate risks.

● Ensure quality construction standards and the use of proper construction techniques.

● Develop maintenance procedures and ensure implementation.

● Carry out inspections of the facilities to identify and resolve issues.

● Check electrical and hydraulic systems of buildings to ensure functionality.

Key Requirements & Competencies:

 BSc. degree in construction management, architecture, engineering or any other related field.

 Proven working experience in construction management, as a maintenance manager or any other managerial role.

 Advanced knowledge of construction management processes, planning maintenance operations, means and methods.

 Expert knowledge of building products, construction details and relevant rules, regulations and quality standards.

 Understanding of all facets of the construction process.

 Familiarity with construction management software packages.

 Solid understanding of technical aspects of plumbing, carpentry, electrical systems etc.
